Customer Reviews
Peace Love Dog has been a great experience for both my dog, Birdie, and my husband and I. Working together with the trainers to understand the "how and why" we need to do certain things to get results, was very helpful. Customer service at PLD was top notch - Great communication. Birdie loved her time there in School and is already signed up for boarding and a refresher training in the next few weeks ! Great experience !
Great trainer...clean facility...treat our dogs well!
The most amazing school for dogs. Our dog, Steve, has been going for 4 years and they have been incredible in the way they have trained and cared for him. We trust them like family.

Very talented trainer. We learned so much in only a few short hours. It makes a big difference and our dog, Lucky, loved every minute! Thank you, PLD!!
Millie absolutely loved going to Prep School at Peace Love & Dogs and learned so much. She loved her trainer Ivan and he really helped me to learn the next ways to train her too. Everyone there is so nice, and you can tell they all really love being there working with all the pups. We have had such a great experience & will keep going back.
The team at Peace Love Dogs is incredible. I've been blown away with their flexibility and compassion for our puppy and last minute boarding/training requests. They are extremely accommodating and we are so thankful. Mari has been such a caring and patient trainer for Osa as well. 5/5 to the entire establishment!

The prep school program at Peace Love Dogs has been the absolute best for our puppy, Monty. We were struggling with Monty being overly timid and worried. Our trainer, Ivan helped him build confidence and helped us communicate and bond with Monty through fun and creative training techniques. Everyone at PLD has been so knowledgeable, helpful and simply a joy to work with. Monty will be training, grooming and boarding with PLD for years to come.
My Frenchie puppy had just completed her prep school program, the whole team at PLD and especially our trainer, Ivan, are amazing. Everyone is always ready to help and based on my experience, has the best interest of the participants.
It's been a challenge for me being in a 2-dog household and the training school really helped. Lulu has shown so much improvement overall, and in the aspects that we had specifically wanted to address.
We look forward to continuing our journey with the refresher training days to keep up with our progress and soon, daycare days!
THANK YOU!!!
Peace Love Dogs did a great job with our German Shepherd puppy. They focused on her chill skills and helped her learn commands easily. I would highly recommend them!

I have a bad habit of only leaving reviews when I'm annoyed with something and not leaving reviews when I'm happy. I'm trying to change that.
My little chaos demon, Abbie, completed the prep school (the 6 week program) with Ivan as her trainer in late December. We love the way they treated her. It felt very much like their interest was in her succeeding and being the best dog she could be. An example that sticks out in my mind is that we had plans to board Abbie for a long weekend with them (over Thanksgiving). A few weeks prior to that the staff was noticing that Abbie was showing signs that boarding might be stressful for her, so they called me and asked if they could have Abbie board there in advance so that Abbie could be introduced to the people that work there at night by her trainer, Ivan to set her up for success for when we were out of town. I figured they would charge me for that, nope. All they wanted to do was to make sure she was comfortable and that it would be a positive experience for her. They repeat over and over that they're a training facility and they know that and they just want the dogs to be the best dogs they can be.
Recently I called because Abbie was "dismissed" from her doggie daycare (Houston Barkpark) for setting boundaries and according to HBP not playing well with others. Our experience with PLD has always been that Abbie is good at playing with other dogs. So I called PLD to see if I could get her in for some refresher days and check her status on the canine academy. Brittany picked up the phone and I told her what was going on. And Brittany made me feel so much better. I was so upset about Abbie being "dismissed" but Brittany (and later on Abbie's current trainer, JJ) rallied around Abbie. Brittany told me to get the video footage to them and she would show to the team and see what they could do, to discuss and dissect Abbie's behavior and decide what happened. JJ is trying to call the speak to the HBP to view the footage so that she could make a determination about any training direction we might need to take or even if Abbie is doing anything wrong (HBP is not staffed by trainers so I trust the expertise of JJ and Brittany over HBP assessment). It felt so secure. I was so stressed and worried and it felt like a hug. This was in total contrast to HBP which are even refusing to let me video the footage so that I can show it to the trainers to help Abbie. The dedication to Abbie's wellbeing is just so wonderful. I'm not trying to make this a negative review over HBP, but to instead show the absolute night and day difference and reactions.
I'm eager to get Abbie off the waitlist to participate in some of their alumni programs. But honestly, the fact that they have a waitlist give credence to my feeling that they're chasing dog safety over profits. I'm sure they could just pile as many dogs in the facility as they wanted and make a lot more money, but instead they are keeping a strict number in order to make sure that they can handle the dogs effectively. That the waitlist doesn't move much means the people participating in the program are happy. While I'm looking forward to the day Abbie can get in, I appreciate what it says about their views.
The long and short of this review is that it feels like PLD genuinely and truly cares about the dogs in their care. They want the dogs to be happy and they want the dogs to be safe and they want the dogs to be the best dog they can be and fit into your life in the best way they can. And I think that's all anybody could ever ask for.
I wanted to leave a review from Abbie as well. The picture attached is one her trainer, Ivan, took while she was at school. I think her smile says it all.

"Michael understands that every dog and family has unique needs and goals and he tailors his programs accordingly rather than trying to force dogs into a 'one size fits all' training style. Michael offers a level of support for owners between appointments that is feel is unmatched by any other trainer." — Dr. Lore Haug, Board Certified Veterinary Behaviorist
"Michael was our savior when we introduced a new puppy to our home. We have a border collie mix that can act anxious around new people and other animals, so when we brought our new dog into her territory we had a few conflicts. Michael worked with all of us to ensure that our home would be a safe and happy place for people and dogs alike." — Alex Herbots, Houston
"Michael was recommended to us by our daycare after our dog started displaying guarding behavior, as well as the usual craziness when anyone is in our yard / at the front door. Our dog is a 50l b, 18 month old ridgeback x Staffordshire with a huge amount of energy. Michael really went into detail asking about the circumstances around our dog's behavior and her background before we even met and he came to us with lots of insight and advice. He explained things we had no idea about and was in constant contact during the 4 weeks we worked with him, offering feedback and input online.
We have finished our sessions with Michael and our dog is back in daycare at kennels with no issues. As with anything, you have to take advice to make a change and work at it – we train, following Michael's advice, every day. There is no magic, instant solution but Michael can advise you on how to get the best out of your dog, to communicate with them well and really promote positive behaviors, all done with kindness and understanding. We were surprised however, how quickly our dog's behavior in certain situations changed. She is a happier, calmer dog for her sessions with Michael (which she loved) and we would not hesitate in recommending him to anyone looking for a behaviorist." — Kay T., Houston
"Our dog was one bite away from being put down. Michael came in and taught us the tools needed to help him relax when people come over. We now have people over all the time … I couldn't recommend him more highly – he truly saved our dog's life." — Kim B., Houston
"Michael Baugh has done an amazing job working with us and our protective dog over the past few months. We knew when we got a herding dog that there could be some protective aggression issues, but after working with countless other trainers, we were frustrated and dismayed with claims of 'aggression-resolution' techniques that turned out to be nothing more than overpriced obedience training and refused to work with trainers utilizing shock collars and other severe punishment techniques. Working with Michael for the last few months is the first time we have made any real progress in the past two years." — Hannah J., Houston
"I have used Michael Baugh as a dog trainer several times. I found him when my own dog developed issues and then I called him back for a rescue dog in our program who was also having difficulty. Michael not only uses positive training methods, clicker training being at the foundation of all training, but he develops a plan for the owner(s) that is interactive not only with the dog, but with Michael as well. This IS 'not a send the dog off' to train it place (which does not work for long) but a you learn to train your dog and maintain that training situation. I like Michael's insights into the problem behavior as much as I like his training methods." — Lucinda Howard, STAR (South Texas Aussie Rescue)

There is no magic, instant solution but Michael can advise you on how to get the best out of your dog, to communicate with them well and really promote positive behaviors, all done with kindness and understanding. We were surprised however, how quickly our dog’s behavior in certain situations changed. She is a happier, calmer dog for her sessions with Michael (which she loved) and we would not hesitate in recommending him to anyone looking for a behaviorist.” — Kay T., Houston
“Our dog was one bite away from being put down. Michael came in and taught us the tools needed to help him relax when people come over. We now have people over all the time … I couldn’t recommend him more highly – he truly saved our dog’s life.” — Kim B., Houston
“Michael Baugh has done an amazing job working with us and our protective dog over the past few months. We knew when we got a herding dog that there could be some protective aggression issues, but after working with countless other trainers, we were frustrated and dismayed with claims of “aggression-resolution” techniques that turned out to be nothing more than overpriced obedience training and refused to work with trainers utilizing shock collars and other severe punishment techniques. Working with Michael for the last few months is the first time we have made any real progress in the past two years.” — Hannah J., Houston
“I have used Michael Baugh as a dog trainer several times. I found him when my own dog developed issues and then I called him back for a rescue dog in our program who was also having difficulty. Michael not only uses positive training methods, clicker training being at the foundation of all training, but he develops a plan for the owner(s) that is interactive not only with the dog, but with Michael as well. This IS “not a send the dog off” to train it place (which does not work for long) but a you learn to train your dog and maintain that training situation. I like Michael’s insights into the problem behavior as much as I like his training methods.” — Lucinda Howard, STAR (South Texas Aussie Rescue)

I would definitely recommend Pilla's Pet Services, very reasonable, friendly and super knowledgeable and she trains in your home, I promise, you won't be disappointed.
After the consultation we signed Ema up for the 6 week Dog Obedience Training. From day one Ema was ready to train with Pilla and I, something that I thought was impossible with her since she was already 1 year old.
Ema would be so excited to see Pilla and was ready to train, conquering all the commands and games Pilla had in store for us. We now take Ema out in public for walks, and she now knows that we are in control and not her. Pilla has mastered the art of dog training and training dog owners . She helps you understand your dog better and how to communicate with your dog. I am proud to say that Ema graduated and she has Mastered Dog Obedience training class.
