Samantha Schmidt
Samantha Schmidt is a long-time animal lover who grew up in NYC with 2 Great Danes, a boxer, 3 sisters and her parents. She attended Convent of the Sacred Heart where instead of sports- she walked dogs as a business all through high school. In those years, she built quite a business and knowledge of animals. She learned what things worked, what did not work and how to “read” the dogs that she walked.
She went on to Tulane, where she started to study animal behavior and train dogs. She found that she was able to enhance the communication between a dog and its family. She also found she was able to adjust the expectations of the human family. She realized how rewarding this work was – and has never stopped. This means she has been training dogs and people since 1985 and she still loves it just as much as she did on day one. She learns something new from every dog and every owner. Dogs are live, individual beings; therefore, one method does not apply to every dog. People vary just as much, and she searches to find a productive way to instruct each individual owner as well.
Training Philosophy
Samantha Schmidt believes that every dog and owner is different and that one method does not apply to every dog. She searches to find a productive way to instruct each individual owner as well. Her goal is for your dog to be a safe and polite member of your household so you can enjoy him or her to the fullest. Well-behaved dogs are welcome more places. Keeping your dog safe requires balance and harmony in your relationship.
