LOMA Behavior and Training
History
Raven Taylor has been a dog trainer for 4 years. She started with LOMA in 2022 and is a Certified Professional Dog Trainer-Knowledge Assessed and Fear Free Certified Professional. She is also an AKC Canine Good Citizenship Evaluator. Raven has a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology with a minor in Business Administration from the University of Texas at San Antonio. She plans to further her education towards focusing on animal behavior so she can help all types of species beyond dogs.
She began in the pet care department at PetSmart and fell in love with training. She has always had an intense love for animals and knew early on that she wanted her career to involve them. Growing up, she was the child bringing home strays and asking her family to keep them.
She has a 2 year old, 100 pound, American bulldog mix named Helix as well as 3 snakes, a leopard gecko, and a 7 year old cat named Ishizu.
Raven works with puppies, impulse control/obedience cases and leash reactivity clients. She is the lead trainer for our Puppy Social group socialization class. Her favorite thing about being a dog trainer is helping people bond and communicate better with their pets. Raven works under the supervision of Dr.Martinez.

Standard Package
After you have completed your behavior assessment, the standard is a 5 session package. Each lesson is 60 minutes. During each lesson, we teach your pet each training skill, show you how to accomplish the skill with your pet, and provide you with detailed handouts and homework using our special training app.
The types of training sessions (Zoom, in person or a combination of both) is determined at the behavior assessment. This will depend on your pet’s age, behavior concerns and your training goals. Dogs that have intense reactions to strangers, for example, are better cases via Zoom because they will be too anxious, fearful or too distracted by the presence of a trainer. Instead your trainer will walk you through exercises that will be beneficial for when a trainer does come to your home.
Transform Your Rowdy Rover
When your loving companion turns into a barking and lunging maniac on leash, we know it can make you feel frustrated, embarrassed or afraid. We can transform your walks into a calm and confident stroll.
With our Transform Your Rowdy Rover 7 week program, we come to your home to work directly with your dog 4 times a week. Then we show you how to maintain what your dog has learned. Your role is easy. You get a step-by-step guide to follow when we are not there so there’s no confusion while your dog is being trained by one of our behavior specialists.
Monthly Membership
After you have completed your behavior assessment, your trainer will determine if this is a good option for your pet. Our monthly membership training (MMT) sessions are ideal for dogs that will need support over a period of time. This is a great option for families with young puppies who will be developing and maturing until they are adults. Getting support for your dog’s training during the most challenging time of a dog’s life (from puppyhood through adolescence) will help you build a foundation for a lifetime companion. This is also a good option for dogs who have complicated or long-standing behavior issues that will need on-going practice.
By Your Side Program
Enjoy watching your puppy learn but need the support of your very own puppy training expert to get you through the sticky parts of training? Then this program is for you. We train with you and your pup each week to meet the needs of your puppy and achieve your specific goals. Our puppy experts work by your side with you and your puppy! Homework is made easy and fun! We check in with you frequently to ensure you are making progress and moving toward your goals.
Do It For Me Program
Have a busy schedule and need to get right to the results? Then this program is best. Unlike Board and Train where your puppy lives in an unfamiliar place, your puppy stays in your home where he should be. Our puppy training expert works with your puppy several times a week. Training is efficient and effective. Then we meet with you once a week to show you how to use what your puppy has learned. You can watch the trainer at work or go about your day on other projects.
Rescue Outreach Services
We provide many services to the local non-profit animal shelter and rescue community at discounted costs. To be eligible for these services, a rescue group or shelter representative is responsible for payment on behalf of a foster volunteer or new adopter.

The trainers at LOMA have been an absolute godsend! They have given me so much non-judgmental support and helped me develop a wonderful relationship with my dog, Cosmo. [Cosmo] doesn’t even realize he’s getting trained. He just thinks it’s all a fun game! Thank you, LOMA!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ LOMA Behavior and Training were more than we could have hoped for in working with our two dogs. They understood our concerns and quickly and efficiently developed an action plan to correct behavior. I couldn't believe how quickly our dogs learned in a safe environment that was centered on positive reinforcement and reward NOT PUNISHMENT. … Wonderful company and would highly recommend going with them for your dog training needs.

We've got the answers for your questions
Seriously, if you have any questions about training your dog, we have the answers.
We have created a directory of licensed dog trainers specializing in positive reinforcement methods. These trainers are not affiliated with Dogo, and all information is gathered from publicly available sources. Each profile provides a brief overview of the trainer's experience and expertise.
Start by evaluating your dog's needs and identifying your training objectives. Each trainer's profile provides insights into their areas of expertise. Match these with your dog's character and your goals to find the ideal fit.
All trainers listed here are certified professionals with extensive knowledge of positive reinforcement techniques.
Positive reinforcement centers on rewarding preferred behaviors, ensuring a pleasant learning journey for your dog. This humane approach is scientifically proven to be the most effective long-term training method, strengthening the bond between you and your pet. By consistently rewarding good behavior, your dog learns to associate actions with positive outcomes, leading to lasting improvements and a happier companion.
Yes, they are. Our trainers are adept in basic obedience or intricate behavioral challenges. Browse their profiles to identify a trainer who specializes in the particular issues you wish to address.
Simply click on the preferred trainer's profile to access their contact details. From there, you can get in touch to discuss your requirements and set up training appointments.
Group sessions offer a communal setting where your dog learns general obedience alongside other dogs. In contrast, private sessions grant focused attention, making them perfect for targeted behavior modifications or individualized training agendas.
All our trainers are committed to positive reinforcement techniques and steer clear of any harsh or punitive methods. Their primary goal is to make training a joyous journey for you and your dog.
Results depend on factors like your dog's nature, the specific behaviors in question, and your training consistency. While many clients observe improvements in just a few sessions, it's crucial to be patient and persistent.
Reach out to the trainer you're interested in to discuss possibly attending a session. It's a great way to get a feel for their approach and see if it aligns with your expectations.
