Danielle Robinson

Danielle Robinson moved to Middle Tennessee in 2003 after growing up in Connecticut. She credits her childhood black Labrador Retriever/Great Dane mix for teaching her about the unconditional love and support that dogs provide.
Danielle’s first dog as an adult was a gentle and well-mannered Australian Shepherd. The bond they created encouraged her to foster rescue dogs. Danielle taught the foster dogs basic obedience skills and socialization, thus increasing their potential for successful long-term adoptions.
In 2012, Danielle started working as a professional dog trainer teaching group classes and private one-on-one lessons ranging from basic obedience to advanced training, including training for the American Kennel Club’s Canine Good Citizen award.
Furthering her commitment to learning and growing as a dog trainer, she successfully completed an internship at the largest no-kill animal sanctuary in the country, Best Friends Animal Society in Utah. There, Danielle cared for dogs who had very diverse backgrounds and specific behavioural issues, including several dogs saved from the Michael Vick dog fighting ring.
Danielle’s goal to be a service dog trainer started when she saw a news story about people who raise and train puppies for service dog organizations (puppy raisers). The story inspired her to become a puppy raiser for Southeastern Guide Dogs. For the next seven years, she opened her home to these puppies teaching basic to advanced obedience as well as service dog-specific skills. This experience increased her knowledge about the care and attention puppies need.
Danielle currently lives with her dogs Miracle, a Shepherd mix, and Emma Grace, a black Labrador Retriever. She enjoys hiking, snow skiing, photography, and scrapbooking when she is not at home with her dogs.

Customer Reviews

Jeff - Danielle has impressed me with the depth of her dog training skills. She went beyond training our dogs to putting together a plan to introduce our dog to our newborn to helping us introduce our new puppy to other dogs. I would highly recommend her. I’ve never met anyone who knows more about dogs.
Valerie - Danielle is the best! She is very thoughtful and creative. She just seems to know the best approach for your dog. She doesn’t shy away from tackling behaviour issues.
Marcia - Simply the best! An absolute dog whisperer!! Totally professional and kind. Top-notch!
Cary - I confess, like most seasoned dog owners, I thought I knew how to best train my 8 week old English Shepherd. I enrolled us in a puppy class with Danielle because I thought the socialization would be good for both of us. Danielle’s quiet attention and sense of humour, not only made me more aware of what “Booker” was thinking but really helped me to understand how best to communicate with her. I highly recommend her services & knowledge. You’ll end up with a well-behaved dog who has gained a loving and lasting friend….one who will be there whenever you need her!
Dinah - Danielle is an amazing trainer. She has helped my dog become confident and well-behaved. You can’t go wrong with Danielle!
Anita - Danielle helped us so much when we adopted a young dog that was hit by a car. As she was healing we discovered the new dog didn’t get along well with our first dog and we needed help! Our vet referred Danielle to us and we felt she would be a great fit from the start. Danielle is very creative and inspiring in tackling this task which is a work in progress. She believes in and works the positive reinforcement method; Danielle is very intuitive with dogs.
It’s hard to believe as I remember the before training and present relationship the two dogs are having.
We also moved to a new home and she helped us transition both dogs for the move and the advice was spot on.

We've got the answers for your questions

Who are the dog trainers listed on this page?

We have created a directory of licensed dog trainers specializing in positive reinforcement methods. These trainers are not affiliated with Dogo, and all information is gathered from publicly available sources. Each profile provides a brief overview of the trainer's experience and expertise.

How can I select the right trainer for my dog?

Start by evaluating your dog's needs and identifying your training objectives. Each trainer's profile provides insights into their areas of expertise. Match these with your dog's character and your goals to find the ideal fit.

How do I ensure these trainers are competent?

All trainers listed here are certified professionals with extensive knowledge of positive reinforcement techniques.

Why is positive reinforcement emphasized, and what is it?

Positive reinforcement centers on rewarding preferred behaviors, ensuring a pleasant learning journey for your dog. This humane approach is scientifically proven to be the most effective long-term training method, strengthening the bond between you and your pet. By consistently rewarding good behavior, your dog learns to associate actions with positive outcomes, leading to lasting improvements and a happier companion.

Are these trainers equipped to address specific behavioral problems?

Yes, they are. Our trainers are adept in basic obedience or intricate behavioral challenges. Browse their profiles to identify a trainer who specializes in the particular issues you wish to address.

How do I initiate a training program with a trainer?

Simply click on the preferred trainer's profile to access their contact details. From there, you can get in touch to discuss your requirements and set up training appointments.

How do group sessions differ from private ones?

Group sessions offer a communal setting where your dog learns general obedience alongside other dogs. In contrast, private sessions grant focused attention, making them perfect for targeted behavior modifications or individualized training agendas.

Which training techniques do these trainers abstain from?

All our trainers are committed to positive reinforcement techniques and steer clear of any harsh or punitive methods. Their primary goal is to make training a joyous journey for you and your dog.

When can I expect to see results using positive reinforcement training?

Results depend on factors like your dog's nature, the specific behaviors in question, and your training consistency. While many clients observe improvements in just a few sessions, it's crucial to be patient and persistent.

Can I attend a training session to observe before committing?

Reach out to the trainer you're interested in to discuss possibly attending a session. It's a great way to get a feel for their approach and see if it aligns with your expectations.
