Emily with Cowboy: We stan Gabby!!! 🧡 We took a weekend vacation which meant leaving our 1.5 yr old blue heeler puppy for her first time ever away from us and we needed to find the right puppy sitter.
Gabby was definitely the most ideal choice!
She's dedicated her entire life to working with dogs and it shows.
Our heeler is a lunatic, wildly energetic, and protective of our space, but Gabby navigated working with her calmly and smoothly!
Her meet and greet session with the pup is essential!
She has excellent communication with timely updates throughout the day - abundance of photos and videos included!
Her presence really allowed us to relax and not stress about our pup while we were away.

Jenny and David with Magnus: Gabby is THE BEST.
If I have any pet related questions or needs Gabby is the first person I think to ask.
I truly consider her an expert in anything related to pet care.
If you’re just running across her page on Rover, I have to say you’ve seriously lucked out.
There is no one I trust more with my pets, and I’ve never met anyone else that has such a broad scope of knowledge in pet care and such an amazing passion for it!
Over the years she’s helped me with anything from proper care for a sick stray kitten to very good and effective dog training/sitting.
And I’m pretty sure every animal that’s ever met her instantly loves her and feels comfortable with her.
Thank you for everything, Gabby!

Peg Dawson Harrington

USA

Peg Dawson Harrington

Peg Dawson Harrington is a dog trainer located in Nashville, TN. She is a graduate of Peaceable Paws Academy, Levels I & II. She is also an APDT member, an Associate Member of IAABC, and an AKC CGC Evaluator.

Training Philosophy

Peg Dawson Harrington is a positive trainer grounded in behavioral science. She believes in building trust with the dog, deciding what you want your dog to do, rewarding your dog for doing good, preventing your dog from doing "bad," teaching your dog to learn, helping you solve problems creatively and gently, encouraging your dog to think and make good choices, and learning how to have fun. She does not use or approve of any of the following tools or methods with respect to the family dog:

  • Prong collars
  • Choke collars
  • Shock collars
  • Shake cans
  • Spray bottles
  • Alpha rolls
  • Dominance or pack theory

Services

Peg Dawson Harrington offers a variety of services, including:

  • Private Lessons:
Private lessons work well for people and dogs who have just one or two issues. Lessons work well in instances of on-leash aggression, management of mild fears/anxieties, or learning how to recognize and encourage good doggie play (whether with humans or dogs). Lesson packages are available in blocks of 4 one-hour sessions, spread out over 2 months. The format for packages is tailored to your needs--it can be a class syllabus or focus on one or two particular problems. Private lessons are billed hourly at $75.
  • Board and Train:
Peg Dawson Harrington believes that a Board and Train can be a positive experience for everyone, including your dog. She sees a Board and Train as an opportunity to interrupt a family pattern that isn't working. Among the most common reasons dogs come to her for a board and train are: house training problems, loose leash walking/on-leash aggression, and fearfulness. While you and your family are having a break from doggie drama, your dog and Peg are busy unraveling the mysteries behind the behavior that brought all of you to this point. Your dog is introduced to a life of structure and boundaries while, at the same time, Peg finds new and productive ways to exercise and train your dog so that all of you can have a much better life together at the end of our visit. Dogs stay in Peg's home and live with her and her crew. Everyone gets four elimination walks/day. Peg searches for unique games and toys to play with each dog individually. Dogs that don't get along well with other dogs are welcome...she can work with that. Board and Trains for specific behaviors (for house-training, loose leash walking, confidence building for generalized anxiety, etc.) start @ $450 for a seven-day minimum stay and include a mandatory 90-minute exit consultation/training session. Additional days are $40 each.
  • Behavior Consults and Phone Consults:
Peg Dawson Harrington has worked with all sorts of behavior issues -- separation anxiety, excitement, aggression, fearfulness, barking, house training, etc. Every behavior problem has something to do with the dog's environment and something to do with the dog's nature. Because of the interaction of nature and nurture in each dog and dog's family, every situation is a little different. So her behavior protocols are tailored to fit a given household.
  • Classes:
Peg Dawson Harrington offers a four-week class that meets on Saturday mornings at 9:30 in Green Hills. The class is ongoing, so you can start at anytime. If you miss a session, you may attend the next time it comes around. The class is for dogs over 10 weeks of age and open to all friendly dogs. (Dogs that are not friendly need to do a private session with Peg first, to determine if this class is appropriate or not). All family members 8 years of age or older are welcome to attend. The class is $100/dog.

Certifications

Peg Dawson Harrington is a graduate of Peaceable Paws Academy, Levels I & II. She is also an APDT member, an Associate Member of IAABC, and an AKC CGC Evaluator.

Specializations

Peg Dawson Harrington specializes in positive dog training, clear boundaries, appropriate nutrition, and good management. She has worked with all sorts of behavior issues -- separation anxiety, excitement, aggression, fearfulness, barking, house training, etc.

Training Methods

Danielle Robinson

United States

Danielle Robinson

Danielle Robinson moved to Middle Tennessee in 2003 after growing up in Connecticut. She credits her childhood black Labrador Retriever/Great Dane mix for teaching her about the unconditional love and support that dogs provide.
Danielle’s first dog as an adult was a gentle and well-mannered Australian Shepherd. The bond they created encouraged her to foster rescue dogs. Danielle taught the foster dogs basic obedience skills and socialization, thus increasing their potential for successful long-term adoptions.
In 2012, Danielle started working as a professional dog trainer teaching group classes and private one-on-one lessons ranging from basic obedience to advanced training, including training for the American Kennel Club’s Canine Good Citizen award.
Furthering her commitment to learning and growing as a dog trainer, she successfully completed an internship at the largest no-kill animal sanctuary in the country, Best Friends Animal Society in Utah. There, Danielle cared for dogs who had very diverse backgrounds and specific behavioural issues, including several dogs saved from the Michael Vick dog fighting ring.
Danielle’s goal to be a service dog trainer started when she saw a news story about people who raise and train puppies for service dog organizations (puppy raisers). The story inspired her to become a puppy raiser for Southeastern Guide Dogs. For the next seven years, she opened her home to these puppies teaching basic to advanced obedience as well as service dog-specific skills. This experience increased her knowledge about the care and attention puppies need.
Danielle currently lives with her dogs Miracle, a Shepherd mix, and Emma Grace, a black Labrador Retriever. She enjoys hiking, snow skiing, photography, and scrapbooking when she is not at home with her dogs.

Training Philosophy

Danielle Robinson is a positive reinforcement, force-free, Certified Professional Dog Trainer—Knowledge Assessed (CPDT-KA). At Praise Pet Love Dog Training, we value the human-dog bond and strengthen that bond through positive reinforcement training methods backed by scientific research. Making our training fun encourages trust and builds a solid relationship with your dog without the use of fear, pain or intimidation. By valuing your dog and you together, we can achieve the behavior you want from your dog.

Customer Reviews

Jeff - Danielle has impressed me with the depth of her dog training skills. She went beyond training our dogs to putting together a plan to introduce our dog to our newborn to helping us introduce our new puppy to other dogs. I would highly recommend her. I’ve never met anyone who knows more about dogs.
Valerie - Danielle is the best! She is very thoughtful and creative. She just seems to know the best approach for your dog. She doesn’t shy away from tackling behaviour issues.
Marcia - Simply the best! An absolute dog whisperer!! Totally professional and kind. Top-notch!
Cary - I confess, like most seasoned dog owners, I thought I knew how to best train my 8 week old English Shepherd. I enrolled us in a puppy class with Danielle because I thought the socialization would be good for both of us. Danielle’s quiet attention and sense of humour, not only made me more aware of what “Booker” was thinking but really helped me to understand how best to communicate with her. I highly recommend her services & knowledge. You’ll end up with a well-behaved dog who has gained a loving and lasting friend….one who will be there whenever you need her!
Dinah - Danielle is an amazing trainer. She has helped my dog become confident and well-behaved. You can’t go wrong with Danielle!
Anita - Danielle helped us so much when we adopted a young dog that was hit by a car. As she was healing we discovered the new dog didn’t get along well with our first dog and we needed help! Our vet referred Danielle to us and we felt she would be a great fit from the start. Danielle is very creative and inspiring in tackling this task which is a work in progress. She believes in and works the positive reinforcement method; Danielle is very intuitive with dogs.
It’s hard to believe as I remember the before training and present relationship the two dogs are having.
We also moved to a new home and she helped us transition both dogs for the move and the advice was spot on.

Customer Reviews

  • Jaime K: We have a wheaten terrier who was having some behavioral problems. [Cherry] has a calm authoritative way about her and my puppy just adored her every time she walked in the door. She always had great suggestion for any situations that we encountered (especially on walks), and gave solutions to and follow up emails as reminders of possible solutions. Cherry is a pleasure to work with and I cannot recommend her enough for you and your pet!
  • Melanie S: I cannot say enough good things or recommend Cherry's Good Dog Training highly enough. We have a blind GSP puppy and were struggling to train her and cope with her blindness. Cherry patiently and kindly adapted to meet Maggie's special needs. She puts so much thought and heart into how to best support, dog and humans as well. Maggie is now working toward her Canine Good Citizen certification! I have no doubt what we can accomplish with Cherry!
  • Meghan D: I cannot say enough good things about Cherry from Cherry's Gooddog Training! She was a true professional and a pleasure to work with. We have an eight month old Frenchie who needed some help with a few behavior issues. He responded to her right away. She was also wonderful with my kids who needed a little help learning 'appropriate' puppy touches. I would recommend her without any reservations for any of your dog training needs!
