Wendy began her journey as a dog trainer at the age of 12 with her first dog, a miniature poodle named Bebe. Under the tutelage of renowned dog trainer Marly Whiting from Canine College in Minneapolis, Wendy and Bebe earned their American Kennel Club Obedience Title ‘Companion Dog’ by the time Wendy was 15.
Transitioning from her role as Marketing Director for VCA Animal Hospitals, Wendy identified the need for dog behavior therapy and training after witnessing the challenges faced by shelter dogs. As a professional Dog Behavior Therapist & Trainer since 2007, Wendy emphasizes humane, non-physical, and natural training methods. She focuses on one-on-one training in the comfort of your home, avoiding the distractions of other dogs and the anxiety of separation.
Wendy’s philosophy centers around teaching dog owners to become their dog’s Pack Leader, fostering trust, love, and respect between the owner and their pet. Her approach to training is rooted in positive reinforcement, free from pain, treats, or clickers. Wendy adamantly avoids the use of shock collars, spray collars, or pronged collars. Instead, she teaches a system of communication based on canine behavior and pack dynamics.
By emphasizing body language and voice tones, she helps owners guide their dogs to focus and respect them. Wendy equips dog owners with the skills to teach and reinforce acceptable behaviors both on and off leash, whether at home, in the park, or in various environments. Wendy’s services cover the Inland Empire, including Norco, Riverside, Corona, Chino, Chino Hills, Eastvale, Lake Elsinore, Menifee, Temecula, and surrounding areas.
Her expertise lies in addressing aggression and other challenging behaviors, ensuring a harmonious and respectful relationship between dogs and their owners.
