As a certified positive reinforcement trainer, she specializes in cooperative training methods. Her services include Service Dog Board & Train Programs, Private Lessons for Service Dogs, Virtual Training, AKC CGC, Trick Testing, VHM, and ATT.
She also provides Public Access Training and Testing. Her certifications include KPA-CTP, and her designations are KPA-CTP, Owner/Trainer. She uses training equipment such as clickers, target sticks, body harnesses, leather or biothane leashes, long-lines, treat-dispensing toys, food puzzle games, snuffle mats, Klimbs, and Cato Boards.
Her training philosophy focuses on making training enjoyable for both the dog and owner by letting the dog decide what they find reinforcing. She offers her expertise in Scottsdale, Paradise Valley, Fountain Hills, Phoenix, Tempe, and Mesa. She is fluent in English and is committed to using reward-based, cooperative training methods to satisfy both the dog and owner.
Her volunteer work includes providing free trainings in public for Service Dog teams with Service Animals of Arizona. She is also a certified AKC CGC evaluator and instructor, as well as an AKC ATT evaluator. A graduate of the Karen Pryor Academy, she is a member of PPG (The Pet Professional Guild), APDT (Association of Professional Dog Trainers), and Dunbar Academy.
She is covered by insurance through Business Insurers of the Carolinas and is dedicated to ongoing professional development. Her past volunteer work includes involvement with Maricopa County Animal Care & Control, Arizona Humane Society, and various rescues statewide, performing home checks, interstate dog transport, fostering, and rehabilitating dogs.
She has also provided medical care, grooming, and training for rescued dogs, helping them find suitable homes. Understanding that each dog is unique, she works with owners to offer specific guidance in a humane and compassionate manner. Whether it’s preparing for a Service Dog, training a new puppy, or assisting with public access and task training for existing dogs, she leverages her 23 years of professional experience working with diverse breeds, sizes, and ages to develop a customized training plan for each client and their canine companion.
