Positive Changes LLC offers open enrollment group classes or private training using clicker training and positive reinforcement methods. The services include clinics for reliable recalls, tricks, and teaching dogs to pull in harness. Certifications are available, and the training equipment used consists of clickers, rewards, buckle or martingale collars, head halters, or easy walk harnesses.
The training philosophy focuses on effective communication through rewards and problem-solving using management, training, and giving the dog a job. The company serves the Bitterroot Valley. The trainer has experience in Weight Pulling and Sled Dog racing events in five states and Canada. They have served as a 4-H dog project leader or superintendent for 13 years, teaching the latest in humane learning theory-based training.
Additionally, they have volunteered at the Bitterroot Humane Association, training the staff and volunteers to use clicker training to help dogs become more adoptable. Their goal is to help develop a relationship of trust between dogs and their owners, whether for running a race, hiking, or simply enjoying the day together.
