The Oregon Humane Society, established in 1868 by noted humanitarian Thomas Lamb Eliot, is one of the oldest and most respected animal welfare organizations in the United States. With campuses in Portland and Salem, the society is dedicated to creating a more humane world where all animals are treated with compassion, kindness, and respect.
The society’s training and behavior department offers in-person and virtual training classes, private consultations, and workshops for dogs, puppies, cats, and kittens. The goal is to educate individuals about the humane and responsible treatment and training of their companion pets, ultimately aiming to keep pets happy in their homes.
