The Way of The Dog teaches nice manners for a well-trained family pet. In addition, the trainer works with behavioral issues such as separation anxiety, fear, aggression, and hyperactivity.
Certifications include CBCC-KA and CPDT-KA. Training equipment used consists of clickers, head halters, harnesses, anxiety shirts, and Baskerville muzzles if needed. The training philosophy is based on positive training and relationship-centered methods.
A marker system is employed using verbal communication and/or hand signals, with the option to use a clicker if the client prefers. The approach emphasizes that dogs are our best friends and should be treated as such.
The trainer serves St. Louis, MO, and parts of Illinois, focusing not only on dogs but also on the human aspect of the leash. With a Master’s degree in Kinesiology, the trainer understands how movement can affect a dog’s responses to variables in the environment. This understanding is used to blend martial arts principles, biomechanics, and relaxation training towards building a wonderful bond with dogs.
