Linda, the founder and head trainer of Dogs By Linda, LLC, strongly believes that understanding the reasons behind people’s actions is a powerful and inspiring concept. Her primary goal is to educate and motivate individuals to train their dogs using force-free methods, thereby fostering a mutually beneficial relationship based on trust and comprehension.
Linda is certified as a CTDI and strictly adheres to rewards-based training techniques such as The Humane Hierarchy, progressive reinforcement training, and LIMA. Her training philosophy centers around using positive motivators and functional rewards, including clickers, leashes, treats, toys, flat collars, harnesses, gates, crates, and playpens. She operates in South New Jersey, with a primary focus on leash manners.
Linda firmly believes that positive rewards-based training methods offer endless opportunities for pet training, limited only by one’s imagination. Her lifelong passion for animals has led her to consistently refine her approach, utilizing scientifically-proven methods that prioritize quick learning while minimizing negative side effects often associated with harsher techniques.
Through ongoing education via seminars, workshops, certification courses, mentorships, literature, case studies, and hands-on experience, Linda continually seeks to make a positive impact in the lives of our beloved canine companions. Equally passionate about her own ongoing education, Linda has attended seminars, lectures, and workshops led by renowned figures such as Dr. Ian Dunbar, Chirag Patel, Ken Ramerez, Kathy Sdao, Dr. Karen L. Overall, Dr. Susan Friedman, Pat Miller, Emily Larlham, Pamela Dennison, Theresa McKeon, Linda Michaels, Pamela Johnson, Veronica Boutelle, Laura Monaco Torrelli, Dr. Jesus Rosales-Ruiz, Mark Hines, Diane Garrod, Michael Shikashio, Trish McMillan Loehr, and Debbie Martin.
