Kay Iwen, inspired by the Animal Planet show “It’s Me or the Dog”, realized dog training would be her dream job. She started her journey by training with a service dog group at Petco. After gaining initial experience, she pursued formal education through the Animal Behavior College’s dog trainer program, earning certification as a dog trainer. Kay then apprenticed under expert dog/service dog trainer Dee Bogetti in Richmond, VA. She has continued her professional development by attending seminars, reading books, taking online courses, and gaining practical experience with puppies and pet dogs.
Training Philosophy
Kay Iwen emphasizes positive reinforcement techniques and believes in keeping training enjoyable for both dogs and owners. She conducts training sessions in client homes to create a comfortable and familiar environment for the dogs.
