About this trainer

Sirius Puppy Training & Dog Star offers classes in 25 San Francisco Bay Area locations. Dr. Dunbar’s puppy training books are available for free from www.dogstardaily.com, and additional books and DVDs can be found at Jamesandkenneth.com.

Dr. Dunbar’s training philosophy emphasizes dog-friendly, fun and games, lure/reward training, and non-aversive methods to eliminate undesirable behavior. Training takes place off-leash within play sessions to develop control over puppies when off-leash, distracted, and at a distance. Food and toy lures are used to teach desired behaviors.

Locations served include Berkeley, Campbell, Concord, Corte Madera, Danville, El Cerrito, Fremont, Los Gatos, Montclair, Oakland (x2), Pacifica, Palo Alto, San Francisco (x2), Redwood City, Roseville, San Ramon, San Jose, Sunnyvale, Terra Linda, Vallego, and Walnut Creek.

Sirius Puppy Training, founded by Dr. Ian Dunbar in 1982, was the first to offer off-leash puppy socialization and training classes. Dr. Dunbar’s innovative techniques have been adopted and adapted by thousands of trainers worldwide. Lure/reward training techniques are quick, easy, effective, and enjoyable for the whole family.

Dr. Dunbar, the Founder of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers and Scientific Director for DogStarDaily.com, offers a free educational resource for dog owners, including an online multimedia puppy and dog training guide. Additionally, two of Dr. Dunbar’s puppy training eBooks, ‘BEFORE You Get Your Puppy’ and ‘AFTER You Get Your Puppy,’ are available for free download. Other books and DVDs can be purchased from www.jamesandkenneth.com.
