Hello, the owner and trainer of Furry Tail Dog Training is Holly, who began working professionally with animals at 17 years old. With extensive experience in both domestic and exotic animals, Holly’s background includes pet care in the Los Angeles area, volunteering at the Long Beach Aquarium of the Pacific, and the LA Zoo. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from San Diego State University with an emphasis on behavior. During her time at the university, Holly gained experience in various kennel environments including grooming, daycare, and general care for cats and dogs. She also interned at the Birch Aquarium as a camp intern, educating children about oceans and animals. Her volunteering experience extends to The San Diego Humane Society, where she worked in Pet Therapy, and the Animal Care Department at Seaworld San Diego. It was at Seaworld where she met her husband Mark. They married in 2011 and settled in Wildomar in 2013. Shortly after moving, Holly obtained her Dog Training Certification from Animal Behavior College in 2013 and completed her externship at Animal Friends of the Valley, specializing in training dogs to become more adoptable. In addition to her ABC Certification, she has expanded her education with additional courses such as ABC’s Pet Sitting and Dog Walking, Feline Management and Training, and The Art of Selling and Teaching Private Lessons. Holly is Pet First Aid and CPR Certified through the American Red Cross and a professional member of The Association of Professional Dog Trainers (APDT). Holly’s household includes a 6-year-old Golden Retriever named Mia and a 5-year-old cat named Lilo. She fosters dogs for the Southern California Golden Retriever Rescue and volunteers at Animal Friends of the Valley. With a lifelong passion for animal behavior, Holly is committed to learning from animals and is eager to help others build and strengthen their relationships with their furry friends.
