The K-9 Training Barn offers obedience and agility lessons for dogs at all levels, from beginners to advanced. The training facility is located 6 miles east of Parkersburg, WV on Meadville Road off State Route 47.
With 25 years of experience in training and showing dogs in Conformation, Obedience, Agility, and Rally, they provide a range of expertise. The training philosophy at The K-9 Training Barn centers on positive motivation, emphasizing a loving and respectful approach towards the dog’s abilities.
The goal is to cultivate a strong desire in the dog to please their owner without feeling obligated to do so. Certifications are available upon completion of training, and the preferred training equipment includes rolled leather collars and leather leashes, along with Gentle Leader head collars to support positive reinforcement methods.
The training building is a modern, heated metal structure with an indoor/outdoor carpet for the training surface. This facilitates a comfortable and conducive environment for both the dogs and their owners to engage in effective training sessions.
