About this trainer

Diane Sullivan has been working with dogs since 1990. She and her husband, Tom, started Good Dog Training Services in September 1997. She is a member of the Association of Professional Dog Trainers (APDT) and is devoted to helping dogs and their people. She believes that dog training can, and should, be a fun experience for all parties involved. Clients have referred to Diane as “the original Dog Whisperer.”

Training Philosophy

Diane Sullivan believes that dog training can, and should, be a fun experience for all parties involved. She does not believe in harming a dog to train them to behave and live among the family. She specializes in working with owners so they, too, will learn to read the language of their dogs.

Good Dog Training Services offers private lessons in basic dog obedience as well as puppy orientation class. They also offer behavior modification, problem-solving, and advanced obedience. They offer puppy kindergarten classes, private dog training and obedience sessions, as well as behavior modification on just about any issue your dog is having. They also offer pet sitting and dog walking.

She was asked by the former Mayor of Albuquerque, Martin Chavez, to train Dukes, the “First Dog”, so that he may accompany him on official business and presentations. Diane was also asked to start the Ask the Trainer program for the Albuquerque Animal Welfare facilities, where she implemented a widely lauded adoption evaluation method. She will soon be bringing her more than 30 years as a professional trainer and behaviorist to the airwaves when she launches the “Ask the Trainer” podcast sometime in late 2022.
