Dog Gone Right, LLC offers a variety of group classes including Manners, K9 Nose Work, and Puppy Socials. They specialize in Positive Force-Free Training, providing small group classes, board & train, private lessons, and behavior modification.
Their services also include Dog Day Care, Training, and Grooming, with certifications in Training Equipment such as a 6 ft. leash, no-pull harness, clicker, gentle leader, and reinforcers. Their Training Philosophy centers around Positive Training for You and Your Dog, using scientifically proven positive methods to establish better communication for a happy, working dog and home environment.
They serve the Northshore of New Orleans, Tangipahoa, St. Tammany, St. Helena, Livingston, Washington, and handle special cases in Orleans and Jefferson parishes. Carolyn is one of a few trainers in Louisiana to earn the Certified Professional Dog Training-Knowledge Assessed recognition. She is also a Certified Nose Work Instructor and has completed two of 3 courses through Peaceable Paws-Pat MIller, as she works on that certification. She is a CGC Trainer and Evaluator.
Carolyn has been training dogs since 1983 after completing certification from K-9 Specialists. Over the years, dog training techniques have evolved to more positive training methods, which she implements in her training today. Her experience includes group and private training, behavior assessments for the LA-SPCA, and working with shelter dogs with various behavior problems including, but not limited to, shy/fearful dogs, aggression with other dogs, aggression with strangers, housebreaking issues, and basic obedience.
Additionally, Carolyn is a certified assistant dog trainer for Paws With A Cause, working with dogs trained to help people with disabilities, hearing impairments, and seizure disorders. She is also a member of APDT and is fully insured.
