Offering puppy kindergarten and basic obedience, as well as in-home training and consultations. Certifications include training equipment such as buckle or martingale collars, 4 or 6-foot leads, harnesses, and head collars. No chain or pinch collars are used. Utilizing toys and treats, along with praise, the training philosophy is rooted in positive methods only.
The primary goal is to positively train and make learning enjoyable for both dog and human, fostering a strong owner/dog bond and reducing the number of dogs surrendered to shelters. Serving Charleston, Illinois, and the surrounding areas, the focus is not only on training but also on educating the public about the significance of positive training methods.
Classes are sponsored by the Charleston Park and Recreation Department, providing both group and private training options. Both instructors are members of the Association of Professional Dog Trainers (APDT) and adhere to its guidelines. Puppy kindergarten classes and basic companion obedience are available, with separate sessions for small and large breeds. The ultimate aim is to train, educate, and engage with dogs in a fun and enriching manner.
