Amy C. Campbell

About this trainer

Amy is a certified professional dog trainer, who’s worked with more than 1000 dogs (and their humans) over her 15 year career in the dog world. Amy ran a successful dog walking, pet-sitting, and training business in the Boston area for ten years before selling it in 2018 and moving to Atlanta. She loves working with dogs and their owners at various stages in a dog’s life including puppies, active teen dogs, and seniors. Amy’s extensive experience allows her to offer personalized support and health/wellness guidance to dogs based on their age, breed, and individual needs. And, of course, to the people who love them. Amy loves working with dogs from all backgrounds, but rescues, rescuing, and supporting dog parents who rescue is a central part of her work. Amy has lived with and loved two rescue pups: Rory her soul dog and steady Catahoula companion for 12 years (who passed in Sep 2022), and Sienna Ruth, her pointer mix, who’s a running buddy, blanket bandit and all around big-hearted girl.

Training Philosophy

Amy and Lillian use positive reinforcement and scientifically backed principles to achieve their training goals (with pets AND clients). No yelling at your dog (or you) here! Not only does it work, but it’s much more pleasant. And we’re judgement free, so if you’ve tried balanced or correction based training in the past, let us know!

Services

Behave Atlanta offers a variety of services for dogs and cats, including:

  • Basic Training:

The “Be Good” Track – This option is right for you if your pet is doing fine, but you just want them to “be good!” Or if you have or are planning on adopting a new puppy or dog. We can do anything from helping your puppy learn basics, to teaching old dogs new tricks. This includes loose leash walking, not jumping on guests, crate training, recall and much more.

  • Behavior Modification:

The “Behave” Track – In need of behavior modification? Our Behave packages are designed to help dogs with serious behavior concerns. We’ll tackle separation anxiety, inter-dog aggression, leash reactivity, fear/anxiety, resource guarding, safe interactions between kids and dogs and more! Tired of living in a constant state of anxiety in your own home? Let us help you!

  • Cat Training:

The Cat Department – Cats are such special creatures that we gave them their own section. We can help with basic cat and kitten concerns like play-biting and scratching furniture, as well as more serious behavioral problems like litter box issues, inter-cat aggression and human-directed aggression. There is no issue too small for the kitty committee.

  • Day Training:

Day training is…A great way for your pup to get extra training when you have a busy schedule. Day training means that your pup can get training lessons 1-2 days/week instead of going to boarding or having a dog walker visit. This is a great addition to a training package or a stand-alone offering for the right client.

  • Group Classes:

Puppy and Adult Classes will be offered regularly starting in mid-August 2024. Thanks for your patience as we confirm dates, times and places! To get on the list for a class, please fill out a contact form and we’ll reach out!
