Out Of The Bark
History
Dan Clark, the trainer behind Out Of The Bark, was inspired to become a dog trainer after his own experiences with his dog Jax. He learned the importance of meeting a dog's needs, understanding their emotions, and overcoming behavioral challenges. He is passionate about helping dogs and their owners navigate the complexities of their relationship.
Training Philosophy
Dan believes that training should be a positive and enjoyable experience for both the dog and their owner. He uses positive reinforcement, such as treats, praise, and play, to train dogs. He focuses on rewarding good behavior and teaching dogs what they should do, rather than what they shouldn't.

Customer Reviews
- Jessi Kennedy - Megha and Dan are just fantastic. I worked with them to teach my rescue dog... everything and now he is so well behaved. They do a great job of teaching you how to work with your dog, modifying techniques to suit your dog, demonstrating and giving feedback. My dog absolutely loves them and gets so excited when he hears or sees them. A big difference from him being wary of them the first day. Would 110% go back if my dog ever needs more training.
- Jessica O'Balle - Some of the best parts (though there have been many more!) have been watching Megha work with our two children (ages 4 and 7) on how to train Buddy, and we've enjoyed bringing Buddy on the pack walks hosted by Dan and Megha to get Buddy used to being around other dogs (and not needing to play with each one of them).
Overall, this has been such a great experience and has made taking care of a puppy so much easier. So glad we found Out of the Bark and have been able to work with Megha on Buddy's development! - Zay Guffy - My dogs and I loved the time we were able to spend learning with Dan and Megha. The education given to teach new healthy behaviors to Amari and Gracie was done with patience and incredible insight. I never felt rushed during training. I highly recommend Out of the Bark!
- Joe Passalacqua - Long story short I will always be grateful for the efforts of Dan and Megha! They were honest about expectations and continually exceeded them. Every failure was me not reinforcing the training I received. It's humbling to learn pet owners are more responsible for the behaviors of their pets than the pet is. We have a high energy GSP and a fairly mellow golden retriever each with their own challenges. I continue to use the skills and every slip up is a reminder for me to use the skills I have learned. They are far more patient than I. Their skills seem magical at times but they work and when consistent our Dogs benefit.
- Kim Z. and her fur baby Darcie - Dan's positive training techniques, communications and skills have improved Darcie's behavior in so many positive ways. Since training we constantly get compliments on how well-behaved Darcie is.
Our family is grateful to have trained with Dan. - Fiona M. and her fur baby Bramble - Dan is an excellent trainer who is not only certified but is patient, understanding, a creative problem solver and a pleasure to work with. Bramble and I appreciate the fact that he is constantly learning and expanding his knowledge of behavior.
His methods are force free, effective and fun for both human & canine learners. - Lisa L. and her fur babies Kismet and Stormi - Two Aussies are a lot to handle! So they must be obedient, trained and always busy to keep them out of trouble! Dan has taught Kismet and Stormi impulse control, general good manners, and lots of neat tricks that keep them intellectually stimulated.
The dogs LOVE when Dan comes over to train. And we love Dan because he clearly loves spending time teaching them new things!
