Customer Reviews
“Thanks Marie!
Got the CD Sunday, you certainly took pains to pack it securely! Needless to say I like it, Susan from the radio station had mentioned there was a PINK cover and I've long regarded her as occupying the opposite end of the music spectrum, but Beam Me Up sounds like a Nancy Wilson song, and that's good!
Throughout this disc I am very much impressed with the range and timbre of your voice as you move seamlessly between genre, from the smoky blues of A Change Is Gonna Come to the diva pop of the Whitney Houston and Celine Dion numbers. I was also happy to find a rendition of Alana Myles' Black Velvet. I have always liked that song, I know she's a big deal in Canada, curious as to why she hasn't made a bigger splash here. Of course the juicy Heart covers are why I had to have this disc, both classics are done exceedingly well, with Magic Man sounding like its coming down a hallway, a touch adding distinction and separating it from just any color-by-numbers covering.
In summation, the CD is very much worth what you asked for it, I owe a debt to the happy chance I caught your Barracuda at 6AM Saturday morning some weeks ago on 1300! I will look forward to any future releases from you, and I am most grateful to have this 'puppy' in my collection!
Thanks,
