Linda S. Lelak

Linda was savagely attacked by a neighbor’s dog when she was 5 years old. Rather than developing a fear of dogs, she eventually became curious about why the attack took place. As a child she would pore over books to learn about dogs. Her training library is still growing.
She began her career working in the customer and public relations fields in the public sector as well as volunteering as an Emergency Medical Technician. Her extensive experience in public relations, emergency medicine and 15 years as a 4-H leader providess Linda a unique ability to understand and communicate with people of all ages. While raising 17 puppies for The Seeing Eye, Inc. and conducting training classes for guide dog puppies, she realized the profound effect she had training dogs and people, and began fostering and training rescue dogs. Linda quickly realized she had a gift and could be instrumental in helping dog lovers better enjoy their relationship with their dogs and vice versa. This love and talent became her career.

Training Philosophy

Linda’s program is customized based on the temperament and drives of the dog and the scientifically-proven principles of canine behavior. Dogs don’t ‘see’ their behavior as good or bad, but do that which rewards them. Her objective is to clearly teach the dog to know what is expected, to provide it the positive motivation and the desire do so, and to demonstrate to dog owners that they have the ability to effectively motivate their canine friend based upon these principles.
At Pawsitive Paws Dog Training and Behavior, LLC., we are dedicated to helping human/dog families live a harmonious relationship using training; leadership; clear, consistent communication; and fairness. We only use scientifically-proven positive reinforcement methods. Pawsitive Paws will help teach you how to inspire your dog to want to do as you ask, quickly and happily. Our goal is to help your dog learn to be a thinking dog which boosts self-confidence, cements relationships and builds trust between humans and pets.

Customer Reviews

Sarah B.- Levittown: We couldn't have done this without your help, & I really appreciate everything you did for Bane and me.
Denise M. - Levittown: Thanks to Linda, Macky and I are much more confident and bonded! Macky can now sit, lay down, stay, come, wait and heel. Walks are now much more pleasurable for both of us. He still has some fear to other dogs, but now we can manage it much better because he responds positively to my commands with clicks and rewards. We can now get closer to dogs, or pass them, with out Macky getting completely out of control. He watches me, looking at me reassuringly to get him passed the situation. Macky is a much more confident and happy dog and I am a happy and lucky dog owner! We owe this all to Linda!!! I highly recommend Linda to all dog owners, she is our dog whisperer!!!
Ruthann C. SPCA Classes: The change in Chip in just a few classes has been wonderful! She is wonderful dog trainer. I would recommend her to anyone. She has taught me, how to train our very active dog. Our dog enjoys every minute of each class. Which was surprising because he didn’t used to get along with other dogs very well, until we started to attend the obedience classes? Now he enjoys the other dogs in the class. He loves to learn new things, and Linda has something new for him every week. I just want to thank you for the help.
Stephanie P. - Warrington: I am going to continue training with you. My Bichon is like a new dog! I never thought he could be so smart.
D. Petruccio - Solebury Twp.: Linda watched me with Rocko, and after asking lots of questions was able to point out how I was sending Rocko mixed messages. Thank you for all your help with our boy. He thanks you too ; )
Amanda A. - Feasterville: After just one lesson with you we were amazed! We couldn't believe she was the same dog!
Tanya S. - Doylestown: My dog would go crazy when we were walking and another dog appeared. We can visit the dog park now and Puggles is not only absolutely calm but actually has fun with the other dogs. Thank you Linda. You helped us learn what we need to do to have a calm, happy dog.
George L. - Levittown : I was encouraged and amazed at how well my one-year old lab, Lu Lu, responded to just one hour with you. You showed me how to teach her to stop pulling me down the street in just a few minutes.
Cuddles: I tell all of my friends and strangers about Pawsitive Paws. Now when people see me I no longer hear “She is so cute” but I hear “She is a well-trained dog.” We are very proud of this.
John: It has been a great experience for all of us. I also appreciate that you let us know we are all doing a great job!! We are all better for having met you and joined your class.

We've got the answers for your questions

Who are the dog trainers listed on this page?

We have created a directory of licensed dog trainers specializing in positive reinforcement methods. These trainers are not affiliated with Dogo, and all information is gathered from publicly available sources. Each profile provides a brief overview of the trainer's experience and expertise.

How can I select the right trainer for my dog?

Start by evaluating your dog's needs and identifying your training objectives. Each trainer's profile provides insights into their areas of expertise. Match these with your dog's character and your goals to find the ideal fit.

How do I ensure these trainers are competent?

All trainers listed here are certified professionals with extensive knowledge of positive reinforcement techniques.

Why is positive reinforcement emphasized, and what is it?

Positive reinforcement centers on rewarding preferred behaviors, ensuring a pleasant learning journey for your dog. This humane approach is scientifically proven to be the most effective long-term training method, strengthening the bond between you and your pet. By consistently rewarding good behavior, your dog learns to associate actions with positive outcomes, leading to lasting improvements and a happier companion.

Are these trainers equipped to address specific behavioral problems?

Yes, they are. Our trainers are adept in basic obedience or intricate behavioral challenges. Browse their profiles to identify a trainer who specializes in the particular issues you wish to address.

How do I initiate a training program with a trainer?

Simply click on the preferred trainer's profile to access their contact details. From there, you can get in touch to discuss your requirements and set up training appointments.

How do group sessions differ from private ones?

Group sessions offer a communal setting where your dog learns general obedience alongside other dogs. In contrast, private sessions grant focused attention, making them perfect for targeted behavior modifications or individualized training agendas.

Which training techniques do these trainers abstain from?

All our trainers are committed to positive reinforcement techniques and steer clear of any harsh or punitive methods. Their primary goal is to make training a joyous journey for you and your dog.

When can I expect to see results using positive reinforcement training?

Results depend on factors like your dog's nature, the specific behaviors in question, and your training consistency. While many clients observe improvements in just a few sessions, it's crucial to be patient and persistent.

Can I attend a training session to observe before committing?

Reach out to the trainer you're interested in to discuss possibly attending a session. It's a great way to get a feel for their approach and see if it aligns with your expectations.
