Kate Quelle
Kate Quelle, owner of Poised Paws Dog Training, began training dogs professionally in 2017 after being introduced to the world of training by a close friend. Since then, she has immersed herself in the dog training world, and earned her CPDT-KA in March of 2019. In February of 2021 she was approved as an AKC Evaluator. She completed the Fear Free Animal Trainer Certification Program the same month. In June of 2021 she became an Official Mentor Trainer for CATCH Canine Trainers Academy
Training Philosophy
Kate Quelle is committed to continued education and only using science-based, fear free methods. It is important to her that during training, the dog is always treated humanely. This is why she does not use prong collars, shock collars, or other aversive tools to achieve results. Instead, she works with her clients to find out what motivates their individual dog and use those motivators to help the dog to learn in a fun way that helps build a relationship of trust and understanding instead of one based on fear.

Customer Reviews
- Annie: We absolutely love the work Kate has done to get our dog to get along with a new dog in our family. She was so patient with both of them and we've noticed so many improvements since we completed training. We would highly recommend Kate!
- Justin: We could not have been luckier to work with Kate! The improvement from day one to our last session was something we are so grateful for. We could not recommend Kate enough!
- Jenna: I highly recommend Kate! We have a little beagle mix rescue named Jazz that was very reactive with people and other dogs. She pulled on the leash, was very persistent about taking food off the table and barked incessantly at the window when people walked past the house. Kate came to our home once a week for six weeks and not only trained Jazz to increase her confidence and discipline but she also taught my husband and I how to continue with her progress. Jazz has made enormous improvements and we are able to take her with us to outdoor restaurants and the occasional trip to Home Depot. She responds to “off” which is so helpful when you have two young children who like to leave their food at the table and only barks a couple times at the window before getting bored and moving on. “Wait” and “touch” have also been a game changer when trying to get out the door in the mornings. Thank you Kate!!
- Sara: Kate worked with my dog Remy. Remy is leash reactive. She gave great tips and Remy is doing well. Neighbors where I live are amazed with Remy's progress and are even so happy to see her say hi if they don't have their dogs. Remy still needs some space but her reactions aren't as bad, her ability to be redirected and reset are quicker. Kate is amazing.
- Marianna: Kate met Samsonite at a turning point in his life. All he knew was fear due to his rough past with humans. Because of Kate, Samsonite was given a chance to overcome those fears. He learned life is all about love and trust, and my relationship with him is closer than I could have ever imagined. He is now a happy, confident, and obedient boy.
