Jody Ann Norton, along with Lesley, started green DogGoods in 2004 as an in-home training and pet sitting business. They opened a store in 2008 and moved to their current location in 2010, expanding to include holistic grooming, an animal apothecary, a healthy dog bakery and a training center.

Training Philosophy

green DogGoods believes dogs are friends, family and coworkers and deserve to be treated with dignity, respect and kindness. They use modern and time-tested, science-based, positive reinforcement training. They help humans understand how dogs learn and will never use fear, intimidation or pain to train any dog.

Services

green DogGoods offers both group classes and individual lessons. Their classes can accommodate two handlers per dog, with children at least 10 years old. Individual lessons can be attended by any number of people, including children of any age. They offer the following classes:

  • Potty Training Consultation: $35 for a half-hour session, $65 for a one-hour session. For dogs of any age.
  • Puppy Primary: $130 for 5 45-minute sessions. For puppies up to 5 months old. Requires no known behavioral issues and current vaccinations or titer test.
  • Good Start: $130 for 5 45-minute sessions. For dogs 5 months old or older. Requires no known behavioral issues and current vaccinations or titer test.
  • Manners: $130 for 5 45-minute sessions. For dogs of any age. Requires Good Start and/or Puppy Primary and current vaccinations or titer test.
  • Distractions: $130 for 5 45-minute sessions. For dogs 5 months old or older. Requires Manners Class and current vaccinations or titer test.
  • AKC Canine Good Citizen: $130, includes evaluation fee. For dogs of any age. Requires completion of the course explanation.
  • Individual/Custom: $65 per session or $180 for three 45-minute sessions. For dogs of all ages. Requires a phone conversation with a trainer.

They also offer a Puppy & Kitten Prep class for $125 for 5 one-hour sessions. This class is for dogs 5 months or older with no known behavioral issues and current vaccinations.
