Gail Czarnecki
Gail Czarnecki has been training dogs and teaching obedience classes for nearly 30 years. Her professional dog training career began nearly 30 years ago when she was a faculty member in Companion Animal Nutrition at the University of Illinois. She was convinced by a graduate student to start taking classes with her unruly Golden Retriever puppy and quickly became hooked on dog training. She has owned and personally trained numerous breeds of dogs including terriers, retrievers, hounds, toy breeds and mixed breeds. She currently owns three Havanese.
In her spare time she enjoys accompanying her dogs on therapy dog visits, participating in obedience and rally competitions, teaching her dogs fun tricks and helping with Havanese Rescue.
Training Philosophy
Gail Czarnecki uses the latest positive, scientific, fear free dog training methods. She believes that each dog is an individual and that learning these subtle, and sometimes not so subtle, differences in learning style allows the creation of unique training plans that increase the chances for success with an individual dog. By focusing on teaching the desired behavior, the dog learns to love learning. She also uses Applied Behavior Analysis and Fear Free techniques to approach problem behaviors and determine the best behavior modification plan.
