Carly is a CATCH Canine Trainers Academy graduate and is currently the Adoptions Coordinator for A Good Dog Rescue where she has worked with hundreds of rescue dogs that have come through the facility. She has a wealth of knowledge on dog behavior and focuses on working through the behavioral issues that often cause rescue dogs to be returned, such as leash reactivity, separation anxiety, fear aggression, etc.
In the past, Carly was general manager of Canine Kindergarten, Westchester County's largest and longest running dog daycare and boarding facility. She has volunteered for multiple rescues, including the Connecticut Humane Society, Westchester Canine Center, and two rescues in Indonesia, where she lived abroad for two years studying dog pack behavior.
Carly loves all dogs, but seniors are her favorite. She adopted 12-year-old Angelina Ballerina from A Good Dog Rescue in 2020.
Training Philosophy
Carly Anne Sheck is a positive reinforcement trainer. She believes in rewarding desired behaviors while reducing unwanted behaviors through prevention and management. She emphasizes understanding the animal's emotional state, environment, body language, and the variables contributing to the animal's behavior. She keeps the animal under their stress threshold to facilitate learning new habits and more appropriate responses to their triggers.

- Private Training: She travels to clients' homes to assess their goals, implement a training plan, and guide them through the process. This can address issues like puppy training, manners & obedience, aggression & reactivity, leash training, curbing problem behaviors, fearful/shy dogs, and separation anxiety.
- Owner-Absent Training: This is for clients who are short on time or not making progress with their dog. Sessions are 45 minutes long and typically in the client's home. They can also incorporate physical exercise for the dog.
- Pooch Playdates: These allow dogs to play off-leash with other dogs in a supervised setting. Carly Anne Sheck matches dogs based on temperament, size, and play style.
