Nancy Le

USA

Nancy Le is a certified professional dog trainer who has been serving the South Bay Area since 2012. She is committed to effective training using force free and reward based training methods. Nancy is a 2016 honors graduate of the prestigious Academy for Dog Trainers, 2-year program (CTC). Also known as the 'Harvard for Dog Trainers,' she continues her education through collaboration, case studies, and continuing education courses with Academy mentors, graduates, and students.
Nancy adopted Petunia, an English Staffy, from HSSV while volunteering and not planning on adopting a dog! Nancy's struggles with Petunia's training, finding the right trainer/methods, inspired her to seek proper education to help others. Petunia crossed the rainbow bridge Sept 2022, her legacy lives on through Nancy's work.

Petey, an American Staffy mix and a foster fail from SJ ACC, was a great teacher due to his fear and aggression towards new people and dogs. He was the goofiest guy who lived out his days stress and fear free. He crossed the rainbow bridge Nov 2022, his legacy lives on through all the fearful dogs that Nancy has the privilege to help everyday.

Training Philosophy
Nancy Le is committed to effective training using force free and reward based training methods. She believes that all animals, regardless of species, size, and age, learn the same way (Operant Conditioning). She trains dogs by rewarding them with things they enjoy (food, toys, access to social stimuli) to increase behaviors she wants more of. And, she takes those same things away when she wants to decrease unwanted behaviors. She uses systematic desensitization and counterconditioning to help dogs overcome fear and aggression.

Services
Nancy Le offers a variety of services, including:

  • 1-on-1 Training: In-person or virtual sessions to improve your dog's behavior and give you the confidence to handle them in any situation.
  • Day Training: In Tune comes to your home twice a week and trains your pup for you! Every 3rd session, you will be present for a 'transfer session.'
  • Separation Anxiety Training: Remote training to help dogs overcome separation anxiety.
  • Pre-Arrival/Adoption Consults: This session will cover most of the above plus how to interview a breeder/rescue and how to find the right breed/dog for your lifestyle. Additionally you will receive tips on how to dog proof your home, ways your breeder/rescue can assist with a smooth transition, guidelines for the first days and weeks to come, and much more!

Certifications
Nancy Le holds the following certifications:

  • 2023-Fear Free Shelters Program
  • 2021-Separation Anxiety Professional (SAPRO)
  • 2019-Certified Separation Anxiety Trainer (CSAT)
  • 2015-Certified Professional Dog Trainer (CPDT)
