Training Philosophy
Manners Matter Dog Training and Daycare is built on modern dog training techniques, using effective methods that do not require the use of correction collars, fear, or intimidation. While traditional training tends to focus on what not to do, our training is focused on teaching the dog what to do. Training should be fun and engaging for both the dog and owner. Learning is a team sport and we take our role as coach seriously.

Services
Manners Matter Dog Training and Daycare offers a variety of services, including:

• Group Classes: Group classes are an economical way to learn training techniques to get the best behavior out of your dog. Our small class sizes allow for a controlled environment to work around distractions with individual attention from our certified trainers.
• Dog Daycare: Our enrichment programs offer a balance of social and mental enrichment. Dogs get one on one time with a care team member every day they are here. Learning new tricks and skills.
• Day Training: Our daytrain programs teach your dog the skills they need to be a well mannered dog at home and in the community. You will receive coaching sessions during your dog's enrollment to help keep up with the training at home.
• Board and Train: Board and train is our most immersive training experience. Your dog will live with a certified trainer in their home to learn manners and social skills. Board and train is our most custom training experience.
• Private Lessons: This one hour consult at the Manners Matter Training Facility allows the trainer to get to know you and your dog to help develop the most successful and customized options for training. Your consult includes a customized training plan, a detailed enrichment plan, as well as tips to help you manage your immediate concerns while a training plan is implemented.
• Dock and Pool: Our dock and pool is open from May thru October (weather permitting). Private rentals, private lessons, group splash, and group classes are available.
• Swim Lessons: Work one on one with one of our swim instructors. We can work on dock diving techniques, building confidence in the water, and safe swimming techniques.

Training Methods

Beck Armstrong, a young and enthusiastic trainer, is employed at Manners Matter Dog Training and Daycare in Nicholasville, Kentucky. His daily responsibilities involve instructing dogs in basic obedience, entertaining tricks, and appropriate social interactions.

In the evenings, he dedicates his time to assisting puppies in earning their AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy title and aiding dogs of any age in becoming participants in MMK9’s popular “Paint with Your Pup” class. Beck is a graduate of the Behavior Works “Learning and Living with Animals” course, instructed by Dr. Susan G. Friedman, Ph.D.

Kailey Brewster

Kailey Brewster has been working in the dog training industry since 2018. She has shadowed other certified dog trainers and attended seminars to stay up-to-date on the latest science-based research in canine learning theory and behavior. She is certified through the Certification Council of Professional Dog Trainers and Fear Free Pets.

Kailey Brewster utilizes modern, science-based techniques and a thorough understanding of canine behavior and ethology to construct personalized training plans and instruction tailored to you and your dog's individual needs. She chooses to use a force-free, fear-free, positive reinforcement approach to keep training fun, practical and rewarding. These methods are scientifically proven to be the most effective, leaving you with long-term training solutions and the skills you need to give your dog a happy and enriched life.

Services

• Private Lessons: Single lessons, 3 lesson and 5 lesson packages available. Each private lesson is 60 minutes and includes instruction, demonstration and hands-on training practice one-on-one with a qualified trainer. These lesson packages are completely individualized and customizable to your specific training goals and your dog's behavior.
• Consultations: Includes a 90 minute consultation to meet and discuss training goals and details of your dog's behavior, training demonstration, and a written training plan and enrichment outline.
• Puppy Starter Pack: Includes four lessons. Available to puppies under 5 months old.
• Basic Manners Package: Includes four lessons. Available to dogs over 4 months.
• Advanced Manners Package: Includes four lessons. Available to dogs who have completed basic manners or at a similar level of training.
• Reactive Dog Package: Includes 1.5hr consultation and five 45 minute lessons.
• CGC Training and Testing: Package includes three lessons; additional lessons may be added as needed.
• Day Training- Drop-Ins or Fieldtrips: 1 hour sessions. Available in single lessons and discounted packages of 3, 5, and 10.
• Day Training- Daycare: Available as a 4 week training program.
• Walk & Train: 45 minutes.
• Pet Care Services: Daycare and Boarding.
• Drop-In Services: 30-45 minute drop-in with your pet.
• Dog Walking: 30-45 minute neighborhood dog walk.
• Phone Coaching: A 30 minute phone call to discuss your dog's behavior and your training goals and receive detailed training advice from a certified trainer.
• New Puppy Consultation: Are you considering adding a puppy to the family? It's important to get started on the right foot! This is your chance to speak with a professional dog trainer before even bringing your puppy home.
• Free Phone Consultation: If you are overwhelmed unsure of where to start or which training program is best for you and your dog, schedule a free 15 minute phone consultation.
• Nail Trims & Baths: Add to daycare, boarding, drop-in or dog walking services.
