With a background in fostering dogs for rescue organizations and shelter work, the trainer has gained valuable insights into a variety of behavior issues. The aim is to establish a harmonious relationship between owners and their dogs. Drawing on more than two decades of experience, the trainer began assisting in dog training classes in 1999 and established her own training business in 2005. Achieving certification as a Karen Pryor Academy Certified Training Partner (KPA CTP) in 2013, she also holds credentials as a Fear Free Professional and Certified Control Unleashed Instructor. Continuously seeking to enhance her expertise, she remains committed to ongoing professional development through workshops and conferences. Employing a scientific approach rooted in a Ph.D. in biology and years of biomedical research, the trainer is dedicated to promoting a force-free training method. Residing in Lexington, Kentucky, she shares her home with her Australian Shepherd.
Experience as a Force-Free Trainer Upon adopting a 9-month-old Cassie, the trainer initially employed traditional training methods, resulting in limited success and a lack of joy for both dog and owner. Upon discovering clicker training, a transformation occurred, leading to the restoration of Cassie’s joy and an enriched learning experience for both dog and owner. Passionate about sharing this training approach, the trainer seeks to foster joyful partnerships between dogs and their owners.
