Laura Pintane, a professional dog trainer since 1989, draws from her experience working for Canine Companions for Independence (CCI), a service dog organization, to found Laura’s Dog Training in 1999. Her philosophy emphasizes leverage over dominance to modify or encourage behavior, fostering trust and curiosity in dogs.
Based in Salida, Colorado, she has served clients from as far as Colorado Springs for weekly classes. Laura has trained approximately 500 dogs since founding her business. In addition to her training business, Laura initiated a local 4H program, formed a dog club that built a dog park, organized a therapy dog network, and has contributed as a columnist for the local newspaper for the past five years. Her primary goal is to help dog owners understand their pets and enhance their relationship.
