Dr. Obedience offers a holistic approach to dog training, ensuring all family members can effectively, consistently, and positively assist in integrating their dog into the family.
Certifications include a wide range of training equipment such as positive food/play rewards, clickers, flat buckle, martingale collars, metal link collars, web or leather leads, special correction harnesses, and head collars as needed.
The training philosophy is centered on the belief that ‘Your dog is smarter than you think!’ With positive reinforcement, patience, and consistency, any dog can learn to stop or diminish unwanted behaviors to become a well-integrated member of the family.
Dr. Obedience serves the Greater Phoenix area with a special emphasis on Scottsdale, Cave Creek, Carefree, Paradise Valley, Desert Hills, and Anthem.
Group classes, private in-home training sessions, and a board/training option at Dr. Obedience’s home are available.
In addition to general training issues such as walking quietly on lead, housebreaking, and lack of focus, Dr. Obedience can also assist in preparing dogs and their owners for AKC obedience and Rally competitions.
As a former AKC judge, handling classes are offered to prepare owners for showing their dogs in AKC breed competition.
Dr. Obedience specializes in working with younger family members to help them understand their pet’s behavior and provides them with tools to assist in the training process.
The same methods are employed in training humans as in training dogs – positive reinforcement, patience, consistency, and a sense of humor.
Dr. Obedience believes training should be enjoyable for both the owner and the dog.
