Ambassador Assistance K9’s International, LLC (AAKI) emphasizes force-free, positive reinforcement (R+) training for basic to advanced obedience, therapy dogs for volunteerism and professional settings (health & mental health), and service dogs for mobility & balance, medical alert, PTSD, autism, and combinations.
The company offers in-home and online ‘train-your-own’ training modules for AAKI program applicants approved and referred by a professional. Interested individuals can contact AAKI for approval and referral requisites for program participation. The President/Owner oversees the certifications.
Training equipment includes leash, long-line, AAKI-approved harness (no non-pull harnesses) for service dogs (SDs) & therapy dogs, and AAKI-approved vest or cape. Service dogs trained to a pull-harness for mobility assistance must first meet AAKI and veterinary health approval.
The training philosophy focuses on teaching humans how to build relationships with their beloved K9s (pets, therapy dogs, service dogs) by educating them on K9 behavior & psychology, as well as K9 body language & signaling to advance modern-day force-free (R+) K9 learning theory. The company serves locations by professional referral only in Maine statewide, anywhere contiguous U.S., Canada, Switzerland, and New Zealand.
