Janine Pierce, CPDT-KA, is the owner and founder of J9’s K9s Dog Training. She offers group classes, private lessons, day training, and puppy day school for practical obedience, behavior modification, dog sports, and more.
Janine utilizes reward-based training techniques for humans and canines of all ages. Private lessons are available in the San Fernando Valley and greater Los Angeles areas, while group classes are held in Canoga Park. Additionally, virtual private lessons and group classes are available for remote participation.
Janine’s passion for dog training began at the age of 14 when she attended obedience classes with her own dog. With over 20 years of professional training experience, Janine has become an accomplished competitor in performance dog sports. Her innovative programs have successfully helped numerous dogs with behavior issues, including severe phobias and aggression.
Janine is a Certified Professional Dog Trainer and a member of the Association of Professional Dog Trainers, the International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants, and the Pet Professional Guild. She is also an AKC Approved Canine Good Citizen and Trick Dog Evaluator.
Janine has served on the boards of several training organizations and has studied with renowned trainers in both the U.S. and the U.K. Her appearances have included speaking at national veterinary and rescue association conferences, featuring in national publications, and appearances on Animal Planet’s ‘It’s Me Or The Dog’ with Victoria Stilwell. She also starred in a short Disney film entitled ‘Train Your Dog’ and has shared insights about canines on the Fine Living Channel. Currently, she can be seen on CBS’s nationally syndicated television show, ‘Dog Tales.’
Janine lives with her husband, Dave, and their Supermutt, ‘Pie.’
