PetSmart group classes or private sessions are available for puppies or dogs at beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels. Training includes Click-A-Trick.
Private sessions can be scheduled for 30 minutes, 1 hour, or 4 one-hour sessions. Certifications are offered for various training equipment such as regular collars/leashes, martingales for certain breeds, and restrictions on pull/front attaching harnesses in some cases.
The training philosophy is based on positive reinforcement methods, tailored to each dog’s individual needs. The classes are conducted in the Chicagoland areas, Skokie, and Evanston. The trainer cannot conduct sessions outside the store due to PetSmart rules.
With over 13 years of experience, the trainer has worked with various breeds and ages, including fearful or adult dogs, puppies, and older dogs. All group classes aim to prepare dogs for the Canine Good Citizen or Therapy Dog tests, with the trainer having owned and trained multiple Rainbow Animal Assisted Therapy Dogs.
The trainer welcomes older dogs and rescue dogs in both private and group classes, ensuring a family-friendly environment where everyone is on the same page.
