Carrie Ann Brophil has been training dogs for over 30 years. She started when she was young and has worked with many dog breeds and thousands of dogs over the years. She holds three degrees in wildlife biology and has worked with wild and feral dog management as well as natural resource management. She has formal education in animal behavior and has trained not only dogs but has also worked with training black bears, cougars, lions, grey wolves, camels, ibex, meerkats, lemurs, and wallabies. She has also been a member of the Association of Professional Dog Trainers since 2008. For a short while, she was running animal control for an area in North Dakota and worked with the local rescue in the area as well as local police departments and helped with assessing dogs to go to their forever homes. She is also a foster failure, with two of her dogs coming from the dog catcher – a heeler mix, and a viszla mix, and one a medical foster fail.
