A passionate dog trainer, with extensive experience as an animal shelter volunteer, pet foster parent, and working with private clients. After many years of training and working with shelter and rescue dogs, they established their own dog training service. Their commitment is to force-free positive reinforcement training because it is humane, based on solid behavioral and learning science, enjoyable for both dog and human, and, most critically, very effective in developing desirable behaviors.
They are a Certified Professional Dog Trainer (CPDT-KA.) In 2013, they earned their Professional Dog Trainer Certification from the Karen Pryor Academy (KPA CTP), which is the founding and leading authority on positive reinforcement and clicker-based training. They are a graduate of the Puppy Start Right Instructors Course. Additionally, they have attended training programs in dog behavior and body language, lead handling and walking skills, kennel enrichment, aggression and counter conditioning, fear and BAT (Behavioral Adjustment Training), therapy dog visitation program, clicker training, TagTeach, and microchipping. They are an American Kennel Club Canine Good Citizenship evaluator. They work with private clients, focusing on their specific priorities and challenges with customized training plans.
